Charles de Gaulle-->Sarlat

Jon & Jeanne arrived just fine and called us from the lobby of out hotel at about 8:45 AM. We met, packed up, and took off. It was a bit of a hassle getting through Paris traffic, but no worse that navigating the belt way around the south west side of DC. Once we cleared Paris, it was 130 most of the way to Sarlat. This is km/hr, not mi/hr.

We stopped for lunch at a restaurant called

"The Why Not" where we had a pleasant break from driving. Lunches were Quiche Loraine for the ladies a salads for the gentlemen. It was a beautiful little town. While the guys were waiting to pay the bill, the ladies wandered around and took some pictures, including the top picture on the BLOG.

After lunch, it was back on the road. The total driving time was a bit over 5 hours. We arrived in Sarlat and found the British B&B against all odds. The directions said to ignore the sign that forbid traffic down what looked like an alley way. We ignored it, and almost backed up once and gave up as it was extremely narrow. But, we kept going and found the B&B.

The "street" to our B&B. The entrance is at the right front of this picture.

Sarlat is a beautiful medieval town full of small alleyways and streets with shops and restaurants. It reminded us a bit of Gamla Stan (old town) in Stockholm.

It is about 20 degrees warmer in the south today than it has been in the north. We had a very pleasant dinner outside.

J&J were off to bed early (long day of travel). C&C were not far behind.
