One of the reasons we chose the time we did to go to Europe was to be able to celebrate 50 years of marriage with Lars and Inga Rydh. Inga's maiden name is Ek. When Chuck's great grandfather Herman Ek immigrated to the United States in 1882, he changed the name for some reason to Eklund. Inga and my dad share a common ancestor (Peter Håkansson Ek) 3 generations earlier. Inga also celebrated her 80th birthday this year so it was a special year for them.
It was a special time for Lars and Inga. Inga's sisters and brother and most of their children and their children were there. In addition, the two girls who were bride's maids were there. We had d
inner at a nice restaurant on a lake near their house. Then we returned to the Rydh house for coffee and cake.

After the celebration we drove back to Norrkoping. One of the odd things about being so far north
is that the sunset lasts for a very long time. As we drove up the coast of Lake Vättern, we had a view like this for a very long time.
