Paris, Saturday

A few days ago, we did the 3 M's--market, Med, and museums. I guess we are getting tired; we could only manage 2 M's today.

There was a large market very close to our hotels (50 yards from C&Cs) that we explored after coffee and some breakfast in a local brasserie. This market was mostly food with a bit of clothing and jewelry. The range of food was amazing. Again, there were so many things that I wanted to taste, especially at the cheese shops. Too many cheeses, too little time. Here is a sample of some of the food available.

Oysters of all kinds.

Fish, fish, and more fish.

Mushrooms.

Nuts.

Vegetables.

Cheese.

Bread.

Caroline and Jeanne were trying on clothing. Caroline wanted to buy a pair of jeans, and the vendor looked at her and said, size 2. She was interested, and he said she could try them on in the van. She told Jeanne to stand outside and make sure the van did not drive off, taking her with it.

One of the pleasures of the markets is to watch the people. This organ grinder attracted lots of young children.
