Cars, planes, buses, and taxis

We arrived in Paris just fine after a car trip to Denver, a 10 hour plane ride to Frankfurt, an hour plane ride to Paris, and a taxi ride to our hotel. All of the legs went just fine. We actually got a few hours of sleep on the long flight. Still, when we got to Paris and went walking around the city, we still got hit by spells of incredible tiredness (as we expected).

We stopped in a local cafe for some food and drink to get our bodies moving again. Caroline ordered a crepe; I ordered a hot dog,

not quite knowing what I would get and surprised when it showed up. Two hot dogs, smothered in cheese, and baked/broiled until toasty and hot. It was actually quite good.

Caroline looks like she belongs

in a Parisian street cafe, don't you think? I, on the other hand, look like a Swede out of water. A woman and young girl (10 maybe) sat down beside at the table next to us (it was quite cozy). The girl could not stop staring at us. As it turns out, we heard her speak a bit and we think she was English--at least she has an English accent.

We finished the evening with a stroll through gardens and a few blocks of the Champs Elysées, ate a pizza at the equivalent of a Pizza Hut in France. You will have to ask Caroline about her mini adventure in the bushes in the park on the walk back to the hotel. We managed to stay up until about 10 PM and, thanks to modern chemistry, we got 8+ hours of good sleep.
