What made the cruise great...

The Caribbean was gorgeous and the sites in Belize and Mexico were interesting. But what made this cruise great, and well worth it for us was the entertainment. Besides the regulars from the Prairie Home Companion, there were several great entertainers aboard.

Connie Evingson

is a jazz singer who we heard sing 3 sets after dinner during the week. She did mostly ballads from the old standards and David Frishberg songs. She had a dynamite piano player named Tanner Taylor. He was really great.

Heather Masse

(pictured here with Billy Steele) was also on board. We heard her sing one set as well as several performances with Garrison and others. She has an amazing voice. Hey style ranges from jazz ballads to gospel to country. Great singer.

Robin and Linda Williams are a husband and wife team who sing bluegrass and old gospel music. Great singers, and fun people. We heard them perform one set and several songs during the main performances.

There were more, and it was all good.

There was one highlight for us. During one of the times we heard Jearlyn, Chuck got picked to be a foil for a song. She sang "Let's give them something to talk about" to me. It was a lot of fun, albeit a bit embarrassing, Fortunately, Caroline did not have a camera. But, we asked her for a picture then next day.

She was a very gracious, seemingly genuine woman who was a super singer and entertainer. We will go hear her sing any chance we get.

Other memories of the cruise made it special.

Suzanne and her family and the SkipBo game we played.

Richard and Claire who shared our front row table most nights.

All in all, a wonderful vacation.
