Bangkok

Our flight from Taiwan to Bangkok was about 3 hours and uneventful. I actually had two seats (a window and an aisle) to myself).

The Bangkok airport is like any other major international airport. Lots of duty free shops and people bustling about. There is one thing lacking--I have only seen one place where there was a power plug where one could charge a computer or phone.

I didn't see any evidence of flooding as we were flying in. But, you can understand why it might flood. The country is very flat and full of what I took to be rice paddies. It is quite humid and warm as well (90+ at 2 PM). So, the photo is quite hazy, but you can see the fields.

Our layover in Bangkok is 5 hours and then we have a bit more than an hour to get to Chiang Mai where we will be staying for most of our time here. I am looking forward to being horizontal in a bed.
