Chuck in his Swedish traditional clothes

Caroline, Becky, and I went to Julotta at a Lutheran church on Christmas morning. Julotta is a traditional sunrise service on Christmas morning. The church is light entirely in candles when you arrive and when you leave, the sun is just coming up. So, in Colorado, the service starts at  6 AM. Yes, we got up at 5 AM, dressed, and drove over there. Our good friends Jon and Jeanne were there as well. Jon was wearing his traditional clothes as well.

Jon and I took Swedish for several years from a woman who is usual organizer of the service, but she was not feeling well enough this year. So, it was a little different. Still, several traditional Swedish Jul songs were sung in Swedish, there was a Psalm  read in responsively in Swedish and English, and a very good mediation (in English).
