Wine Cellar

Jacques is on the town council for his village so he had the key to the local church. It was destroyed in WWI (as was all of village) and rebuilt. It is very beautiful.

One of their neighbors, also named Jacques and Bernadette, are champagne makers. With about 3-4 weeks before the grapes are ready to pick, there is not much work to be done in the fields. So, on this Sunday, Jacques and a friend went to the forest to pick mushrooms. In a few hours they picked 5 buckets of wild mushrooms. Here they are, cleaning the mushrooms. Notice the bottle of champagne and the 2 glasses.

One of the reasons I like Jacques is he has a real wine cellar, with several hundred bottles of wine. We indulged in a bottle with an excellent supper (Bordeaux) and lunch (Burgundy) the next day.
