The cruise docked in Barcelona around sunrise.

We debarked (I love the word debark) and got a bus to take us to the hotel. We were on the first of three busloads of cruisers that showed up at the hotel. We figured we could go check in while we were waiting for our luggage to be unloaded. What a great idea. We got a room in about 15 minutes. After we got to our room we went back down looking for our friends and people were waiting in a long line (an hour plus) to get a room. Caroline and I decided to go with Mary from Memphis to the city to look around and leave her husband Gene to get their room.
So, we got a taxi and headed to the old part of the city. Barcelona is a marvelous mix of old and very new. Much of that is from the Olympics that were held in Barcelona. We couldn't resist a Spanish pastry on our last day in Spain, even thought the last thing we needed was more food.

The cathedral was magnificent.

We stopped in a department store and the women headed for the clothing section. Chuck headed for the grocery store and found that Oscar Meyer is in spain.

After a few hours of wandering around Barcelona, we went back to hotel for a short rest. Then all four of us headed back down to Barcelona for a nice dinner in restaurant in the old part of the city with our friends. It was a great way to end our vacation.

Our flight home was long but uneventful. We got up at 6 AM Barcelona and got to Colorado at about 8:30 AM Barcelona time the next day. Needless to say, we were tired.
