2009 Wrap Up, part 2

Our family is doing fine. We will all be together once again at Christmas time.

Kim and her family live in Colorado Springs. Sarah is a junior in college, Jake a senior in high school, and Ben is in 7th grade.

Shannon (picture on left above) and her family also live in the Springs. Paige is a sophomore in college, Hope is in eighth grade, and Hunter is in sixth grade.

Hunter, Ben, Hope, Sarah, and Paige.

Luke still lives in Silver Spring, MD where he is now a confirmed urbanite. He has become a serious adventure racer, doing things that we consider crazy. He and Chuck rode a 24 hour bicycle

event where they covered over 350 miles between the two of them. During more than half of the time, it was raining so it was not a pleasant ride. But we raised over $2,000 in support of cancer research and had a good time.

Becky (on the right in the top picture) is in graduate school at Duke where she is working towards a PhD in New Testament. She takes her exams in March of 2010 and then has to write a thesis.

Chuck's dad is nearly 97 and doing OK. He lives at Bethany Home in Lindsborg, KS.

Marion still lives in their duplex  within walking distance of Bethany. As one would expect, his body is beginning to slow down due to aging.

His mind is still good and he holds his own in card games with whomever will play with him. And, yes, he does use a computer and we email and instant message when we get the chance.

Caroline continues to play percussion in a concert band. in addition to the band, she takes lessons from an excellent percussion player who for many years directed the Air Force Academy Band.
