Before we went to our abode for the next few days, we went to meet Schaun, Akosia, and the kids. It was an incredible experience best described with pictures and a few short videos.
As we walked down the steps we were met with a wall of greeting.
We were treated to a program of a poem, a short drama, and dancing. Here are some samples.
If I tried this I would be in the hospital.
The boys danced right up to us.
They served us some traditional SA food—Umgqusho, Phutu and Maas, Amaghewu. It was interesting to eat and the kids were watching us as we ate it. Once we had our taste, they ate it for their supper.
The kids loved to have their pictures taken. Here are a couple of examples.
We were all impressed with the incredible energy of the kids and the obvious respect they have for Schaun and Akosia. It was a good start for the team as we started the primary reason that we came.
