Aug 21: At sea

Warning: There are two movies in this post that might take some time to load.

We sailed from Icy Point to Anchorage on the 21st. It was a long haul and required an average speed of nearly 20 knots. Much of the time we were in the Pacific with a cross-head wind which made the ship rock and roll. Walking a straight line was a trick. [Nerdy aside. I actually think our natural path was close to a sine wave. I thought about an experiment involving a rolling sphere to see what the path was, but had no way to implement it. End of nerdy aside.]

As we were leaving Icy Strait Caroline got this beautiful picture of the mountains.

At the show, the so called “Three Tenors” sang one of the variations on a song that has been sung at every show and has become a very common ear worm running through everyone’s heads. The video below is the chorus.

Here is a picture of some of our dinner companions in the dining room.

At the end of the evening we listened to  the DG sisters. They are wonderful singing together and lots of fun when they introduce songs. Here is a clip from their version of the Heebie Jeebies. (Sorry about the backs of the heads.)
