Seattle

Previous

We spent a couple of days in Seattle before getting on the cruise. Seattle is a beautiful city with lots of water and mountains visible on clear days.

On Saturday, we spent a nice afternoon and evening with Mark and Doreen at their new home in Bellingham. This is a picture of them on their deck.

Starbucks

On Sunday we wandered up to Pike Market and joined a trillion other folks walking around the market. Everyone in Seattle must have been there. It is hard to see in this picture but at 11:30 there was a line to get into the first Starbucks store. I like Starbucks and drink their coffee regularly, but I’m not prepared to wait 25 minutes in line just to say I bought coffee in store number #1. We also saw a couple of restaurants with long waiting lines.

But, we found a delightful small French restaurant and had a wonderful lunch. Maximillian’s if you want a great place to eat and have a time of peace away from the chaos of Pike Market.

As the sun went down we went for a walk and found some interesting sculptures.

We board the ship tomorrow and sail away.
